Communication Section

Sungi’s communication program aims at achieving organizational objectives through the use of communication strategies. To achieve organizational objectives and make Sungi’s programmes and projects more effective communication program is providing support to all programs and projects.

Objectives

  • Develop both internal and external communication strategies
  • Preparation of communication material to provide information to community partners  
  • Sungi’s image building and visibility
  • To promote Sungi’s work, documentation, reports and develop promotional material. 
  • To help Sungi’s programmes and projects in developing information and awareness raising material e.g. advocacy, health, education, human rights, natural resource management, microfinance, enterprise development, community productive infrastructure. 
  • Develop media linkages.

 

Internal Communication
Sungi’s internal communication is simply a step towards helping the organization achieve its aims more effectively. Communication relates directly to the foundation of the organization: people/community – staff, management – that give the organization its ability to function and help the organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness through creation of internal communication processes as a creative, cohesive organizational culture.  

 

External Communication
External communication is a basic tool for Sungi to built relationships with partners/ stakeholders and plays a very important role in developing partnerships with donors. Development of communication material that will help improve quality of partner’s lives and uplift marginalized and deprived communities is an essential role of communication. Communications through media interaction plays a vital role in promoting Sungi’s work, image and brings into the public domain issues of the vulnerable and marginalized communities.

 

Following are the communication tools used in Sungi to fulfill its overall goal.

Communication tools, methods and approaches


Sunginama

Publish bi-monthly newsletter containing articles necessary for the achievement of Sungi’s objectives, highlight advocacy issues and communicate organization’s viewpoint on public policies and its effects on relevant people and send messages to policy makers, identify and analyze focal problems at Sungi’s field area, raise awareness on issues of development that will help improve quality of their lives, and report activities of Sungi’s field areas as well as zonal level.

 

Annual Report

The Annual Report provides an official account of Sungi’s activities for a calendar year. It captures all organization’s programmes and projects endeavors, achievements, shortcomings and lessons learnt.

 

 

Communication Material support to all Program and Projects

Communication program is providing support in developing programs and projects material e.g. research and survey reports, project completion reports, Partners Assembly and VDP reports etc.

 

 

Promotional Material

Development of promotional material for Sungi’s image and programme building e.g. brochures, planners, diaries, calendars, flyers, leaflets, banners, booklets etc

 

Linkages Development

Program is developing linkages and establishes contacts with NGOs, CBOs, involved in the community and welfare activities, so that information and experiences related to community development are shared.

 

Dissemination and Display Sungi’s Information

Program is dissemination Sungi’s information to its community partners, CBOs, NGOs, Donors etc. for program promotion.

 

 

Sungi Website

The website is the central platform for all external information Sungi produces. It is up- to-date, reader-friendly and clearly communicates Sungi’s vision and mission. A designated person from IT section is responsible for uploading.

 

 

Intranet/ Staff corner

The intranet is the most important channel for Sungi’s internal communication. Sungi staff can easily find the information they need to perform their daily work. Internal news is updated in a timely manner.  

IT Section of F&A Section has the overall operational responsibility for Sungi’s intranet site in cooperation with Programme Management Committee.

 

Media activities

The Communication Section coordinates all media activities for Sungi sending press releases on its most important activities. Depending on the topic, they are translated into the relevant language. Interviews, background talks and exposure visits to locations of important activities are organized to inform the media of Sungi activities.
