Emergency Response in Allai update 28th August, 2010

 Report on Emergency Response    

ACTIVITIES: (e.g. Needs Assessment, Coordination Meetings, Distributions - if any, DMCs initiatives etc.)

Tents distribution: Three tents were provided to Star Public School Jumbera for classrooms. Total 385 boys and 47 girls students facilitated.

Oxfam Novib project: Assessment for hygiene kits continued and today detailed data of 370 families was collected.

Total 1,103 families were assessed up till now.

Road clearance (Faqiro cluster): Physical work was continued on road clearance. Total 70% of physical work was done. The project volume is Rs. 19,324/- benefiting 210 flood affected household. The road will be open for traffic on Monday.

DWSS:

Faqiro area:         30% work done

Kandora village:    80% work done

Jumbera Killay:     File approved and procurement of pipes started

Beside this teams also identified, socially and technically appraised and prepared designs and estimates of five DWSS in five villages of Kohistan.

River crossing chair lift: River crossing chair lift installed and functional (PRDA funded). Total 130 households of Kandora village are using this chair lift to cross the river.

Medical camp (DMP budget): Medical camp is functional at Tehsil Pattan TMA office Kohistan.

Field Office Establishment: Field Office Besham is fully functional with residential facilities and staff is operating Kohistan and lower Allai from Besham office.
