Human Resources Section

Sungi’s HR Section is developed since it was registered. From time to time based on the needs of the organization the systems were developed according to the organizational needs. In 1999 first Document “Staff Service Rules (SSR)” was prepared. Later amendments’ were incorporated in the SSR. In 2007, Second version of SSR was prepared with inclusions on changes by the Sungi Board of Governors (BoG). The third version was prepared in 2010 with the policy reviews, changes and inclusion of new policies.   

HR Section with the support of Program Management Committee (PMC) prepares policies and review of policies after proper consultation with the staff at all levels. PMC after careful review send these policies to BoG for approval.

HR Section major functions are as follows:

  3. Performance Management
  4. Training & Development

1. Recruitment and Selection

Staff is hired in Sungi through proper systems by designing job description and job specification against every position. Positions are advertised, CVs short-listing, formation of panels of interviews, conduct of test/interview, final merit summaries, offer for job as per merit list, joining, orientation are the key components.

Orientation Sessions are organized for newly joined staff with the support of Omar Asghar Khan Center for Development (OAKCD).

2. Compensation and Benefits

Sungi offers handsome salary packages along with other benefits to its employees. Each year Sungi employees are given performance based increments. Sungi provides health insurance cover, Out-patient (OPD) facility, life insurance, EOBI, Provident Fund, Per-diem, Night Differentials, Annual (22 per annum after completion of one year service with Sungi), Casual (10 per annum), Maternity (66 in case of normal delivery and 88 in C-Section cases after completion of one year service with Sungi), Paternity (15 Days after completion of one year service with Sungi), Study Leaves to its employees (Short term and Long term with conditions).

Sungi provides Pick n Drop service to its Women employees within 30 KM radius on mettled roads by charging Rs. 1600/- per month. Women employees can also bring maid with them to take care of their children.  

In each Sungi office, Parents Friendly Spaces are created to provide opportunity to employees to bring their children with them.

Sungi has developed a comprehensive system to respond to the grievances of the employees. All staff is allowed to work in Sungi under code of conduct. If any person found misconduct disciplinary actions are taken against those employees. Sungi has zero tolerance policy toward sexual harassment. HR Section receives grievances from staff and acts as per Staff Service Rules and take disciplinary actions, if any employee breached conduct of Sungi.

3. Performance Management

Sungi provide opportunities to its employees for their development and getting diverse experience in a challenging environment. Each staff member after joining pass through probation period and if he satisfies her/his supervisor then s/he shall be confirmed on the position.  

Every employee is evaluated two times (June and End of the year) in a year. Employees are given opportunity to sit with supervisors and discuss on the progress on mid-year and at year end. Employees are given feedback round the year for effective and efficient work.

Each year Sungi nominates its employees for Best Worker and Appreciation Letters. Annual Retreat is organized every year and these awards are given to employees in this event in the presence of all Sungi staff.

Through transfers/promotions staff is given opportunity to learn in diverse and challenging field areas.

4. Training and Development

Sungi provides opportunities to learn respective to their job focusing on their career development. Training and Exposure (National & International) opportunities are provided to staff members to meet the future needs of the organization as well as the development of employees.   

Each year HR Section finalizes Training Need Assessment of Staff and provides information to Omar Asghar Khan Center for Development (OAKCD). HR and OAKCD prepares Staff training calendar after the consultation of Sungi’s Management for internal trainings.

5.    Others 

 

1.     HR Section also compiles Leave Reports every month and consolidate on annual basis.  

2.     Staff Final Settlements are also responsibility of HR Section. 

3.     HR Section prepare annual holidays calendar and notify to all staff on guzzetted holidays. 

4.     Preparation and update of Personnel Files and Contract Management of Staff. 

5.     Update of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) 

6.     Payroll Verification of Programmers and Projects 

7.     Conduct of Salary Review Meeting 

8.     Internal and External Audit of HR Section
