Sungi organized an urgent coordination meeting on July 30, 2010 in Islamabad to respond this emergency situation in a well coordinated way. Organizations from Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa, Punjab and AJK participated in the meeting including RSPN, HDP, SPARC, KDWO, Lead Pakistan, TFIP, UNDP, Sungi Development Foundation, Shirkatgah, Doaba Foundation from Punjab, Social Aid from Balochistan and KPK, Hujra from Swat, Saibaan from Mardan, Global Peace Pioneers, ITA, Oxfam Novib, UNDP, Children First, SDS, HIN and KIDO from Mardan. Some more NGOs from Peshawar, AJK, Mansehra and Swat also confirmed their participation in the meeting but couldn’t attend the meeting due of roads blockage.

During the meeting as per agenda current disaster situation of Pakistan was discussed to know the actual delineation of the entire scenario. Further, a well coordinated humanitarian response plan was chalked out to alleviate the human suffering from floods. As a result all organizations sent assessments, needs and required fund for response to Sungi being focal organization. Sungi is compiling that information to be shared with PHF, UN agencies and other funding agencies through Syed Arif – the funding manager of Oxfam Novib.
