Early tabling of bill against child marriage demanded

Women Assembly in District Swabi

Aawaz District Forum (ADF) Swabi organized a Women district Assembly on 9 February 2015 at a local hotel. The assembly was attended by 176 people including 126 women and 20 representatives of minorities. Women included representatives from political parties, local community, and community support organizations (CSOs). Ms. Aisha Naeem, MPA (Parliamentary secretory Public Health Engineering KPK) was the Chief Guest.

Handicraft Exhibition at Centaurus Mall, Islamabad

World Interfaith Harmony Day in Swabi

Sungi development foundation under its AAWAZ program arranged World Interfaith Harmony Day (WIFH) on 4 February 2015 in a local hotel of Swabi. Vocational Training Completion

Sungi Development Foundation in collaboration with Institute of Rural Management (IRM) conducted and completed a vocational training program for the rural communities of Balakot, District Manshera. Sungi's Initiative on 16 Days of Activism

Sungi Development Foundation, under its AWAAZ program commemorated 16 days of activism to end violence against women (VAW). A series of activities were arranged between 25 Nov-10 Dec 2014 to raise awareness on VAW and human rights, and to lobby with the government asking it to take positive tangible actions to eliminate VAW by making new laws and by strictly implementing existing laws.

HAP Board Meeting: Core Humanitarian Standard Launched at Copenhagen

HAP board met on 10-11 December 2014 in Copenhagen at the headquarters of Danish Church Aid. Executive Director Sungi , Mr. Sajid Qaisrani(Chairperson NHN) participated in the meeting. Meeting approved the final version of new Core Humanitarian Standard and also gave go ahead to the merger of HAP International and People in Aid.
“Siyasi Bethak” on 16 Days of Activism

The Sungi Development Foundation organized a three days Roundtable Consultation on Craft Development from 19th-21st November 2014. Sungi development foundation under its Aawaz program organized an event on “Engagement with students and faculty of academic institutions for Intellectual Discourse on Non-Violent and Peaceful Behavior”, at COMSATs Institute for Information Technology (CIIT) Abbottabad on 19 November 2014. Forty females and forty males participated in the program including Aawaz members, faculty member and students of CIIT Abbottabad. This program was in connection with 16 days of activism against Gender Based Violence.

Sungi development Foundation Attock, organized a protest rally against Kot Radha Kishan killings on Nov 12, 2014 at Fawara Chowk Attock. More than 200 protestors including 35 women participated in the rally. This event was a part of Aawaz program (2012-2017) supported by DFID (Department for International Development), UK. This program is being implemented in 6 districts namely Abbottabad, Attock, Haripur, Mansehra, Upper Dir and Swabi by Sungi.

Sungi Development Foundation organized a consultation meeting under its Aawaz Voice and Accountability program on 15 November 2014 at Abbottabad Press Club.Forty six men and twenty six women participated in the program. The primary aim of the activity was to promote the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR). Sungi signs an agreement with NCA to provide relief to people affected by floods in three districts

On Monday, 20 October 2014, Sungi development signed a project contract with Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) for providing relief aid to the people affected by recent floods. Due to these floods an estimated number of 47,799 houses have been reportedly damaged or destroyed while nearly 1.7 million acres of crops have been damaged.

Shelter homes equipped with 250watt solar power constructed in Jaffarabad

AAWAZ Festivals UCs of Attarsheesha and Bher Kund

Sungi organized cultural events in Attarsheesha and Bher Kund UCs of Mansehra district during March. Festival in UC Attarsheesha was held on 17 March 2014, in coordination with the AAWAZ UC forum. The festival was part of awareness raising and sensitization campaign regarding women’s political participation and peace promotion.
