Village Community Partners & Sungi Honored with Outstanding Achievement Awards by PPAF

In recognition of outstanding achievements and successful completion of rehabilitation and reconstruction project, Sungi and its community partners were awarded with six different awards by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). The awards were awarded to Sungi, its partners and other partner organizations of PPAF on 8th December during the closing ceremony of the project chaired by the Country Director of the World Bank, and in presence of Mr. Kamal Hayat, Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Kamran Akbar, Chief Operating Officer of the PPAF.

Best Activist Award was given to Mr. Nisar Ahmed of the Abbasi Welfare Trust, of Village Kothiala Union Council Kokmang. Maximum ERRA Compliance at Roof Band Level Award (100% Complience), was awarded to Dahi Taraqiati Tanzeem, Gali Meeran, Union Council Boi, which was received by Mr. Bashir Ahmed, Genernal Secretary, of the organization. Maximum Cost Saving Through Collective Action award was awarded to Aabbasi Welfare Trust of village Kothiala and Haji Pervaiz Ahmed received the award. Caring of the Vulnerable Award was awarded to Sanjee Soch Dahi Taraqiati Tanzeem Pulhair UC Kukmang, which was received by Mr. Gohar Rehman.

Mr. Khurram Irshad, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of Sungi was given runner up award for his performance as Out Standing Management Information Officer. Sungi Development foundation was given appreciation award which was received by Dr. Manzoor Ahmed Awan, Director Operations.

Sungi’s congratulates its staff and community partners for outstanding efforts in provide safe housing to about 97% affected households in Boi and Kokmang UCs of district Abbottabad, through this project. This joint venture of civil society in Pakistan, has been widely appreciated worldwide as one of the successful models of participatory rehabilitation and reconstruction in the world.
