Police Training on Human Rights and Behavioral Change Communication

Human Rights Programme of Sungi arranged first ever training for Abbottabad police constable in Omar Asghar Khan Centre for Development from October 28-29, 2010. Total 11 constables from urban and rural police stations attended the training.


Objective of the training:

Prime objective of the training was to sensitize the police constables and head constable about human rights and behavioral change communication. Self awareness, types of behavior, dealing with stress and anger, were the other objectives of the training.

Major topics of the training;

 

Fundamental human rights

·         Legal basis of human rights

·         International laws on human rights with special emphasis on women and children rights

o    Civic and Political Rights (CPR)

o    Social and Cultural Rights (SCR)

o    Labour and Livelihood Rights (LLR)

o    Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)

o    Child Rights Convention (CRC)

·         Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)

·         Khutba Hujatul Wida (last address of holly Prophet (PBUH))

 

Behavior

·         Types of behavior and its impact

·         Exercises to cope up with anger and mental stress

 

Concept of gender

·         Definition of gender

·         Difference between gender and sex

 

Training utilization plan

In the end of training DPO Abbottabad Mr. Imran Shahid distributed the certificates among the participants. He appreciated Sungi for arranging successful training for police constables and emphasized on them to implement the learning of training in their field.
