Rights Based Development-National Training

On the request of Gilgit Baltistan Advocacy Network, Human and Democratic Rights Programme of Sungi arranged 2-days national training on Rights Based Development in District Ghizar of Giglit Baltistan. Total 26 particpants of District Ghizar and Tehsil Yaseen seven district of Gilgit-Baltistan particpated in the training wprkshop.

 

RBDNSungi being one of the few NGOs that are nationally and internationally known for having unique experience of integrated approach of advocacy and development, which beautifully blended rights, based approach in process of social transformation. The workshop provided an opportunity to the participants to share and learn about fundamental rights, rights based approaches to development and enhance their skills and knowledge to relate these with their work and experiences.

 

Objective behind the training was to educate the people about the philosophy of rights based development. Educating people about fundamental rights, and various international convention siegned by Pakistan was another objective of the workshop.

·         Social mobilization promoting Human Rights agenda

·         Tools for advocating Human Rights

 

RBDN-MukhtarMukhtar Javed Manager Human and Democratic Rights Programme, Mohammad Taj Manager Social Mobilization, Nazir Advocate Focal Person GB Advovay Netwrok and Omar Javed Regional Coordinator Sungi were the main facilitators of the workshop. Participants took keen interest in the training session especially the fundamental rights, Rights based development and role of social mobilization promoting human rights agenda. They raised questions about Sungi,s model of advocacy that were properly answered. At the end of workshop participants prepared training utilization plan given as under;

 

1.    Muhammad Saleem

a.     First of all we shall implement this training on our self.

b.     We shall also implement it in our Home, Mohallah and surrounding as well.

c.     We shall convey the message of this training to like mined people.

2.    Sultanullah Baig

a)    Through the platform of organization (VC’s) we shall utilize the platform of LSO.

 

3.    Feroz Khan

a)    After getting the training of Human Rights and Advocacy as well we shall try for the betterment not only for my family members, relatives but also for society.

b)    We shall work on different problems according to plan.

 

4.    Yaqoob Tai

a)    We shall try to convey the learning of training to our society.  

b)    We shell make effort solve the basic problems faced in the region. 

c)     Prepare the common people for the protection and promotion of their rights. 

 

5.    Muhammad Khan

a)    I shall utilize this training in village for VC formation.

b)    Provide awareness to other members of human rights.

c)     I shall provide awareness to the members of LSO.

d)    Raise voice for the attainment of our rights.

 

6.    Baloor Baig

a)    We shall together the people for bring awareness among them related to human rights.

b)    We shall bring awareness in our village related to the work of Sungi.

 

7.    Maleer Baz Khan

a)    I shall write in Newspaper and covey whatever I learned through columns and articles.

b)    To elect correct representative in elections.

c)     To educate the people about participatory democracy.

 

8.    Javed Iqbal

a)    I will start advocacy in my village.

b)    VC formation in village according to the principles of VC formation of Sungi

9.    Hashim Khan

a)    To prepare people about political consciousness.

b)    Take basic measures to get own basic rights.

 

10.  Raja Karamt Ullah

a)    Convey the message of training in village level (CBO’s & LSO). 

b)    Conduct maximum public meetings to bring awareness among them. 

 

11.  Shafqat Ali Inqalabi

a)    Play a role for the constitutional restoration of Gilgit Baltistan.

b)    Work for the restoration of identity of Gilgit Baltistan people.
