Summary of Sungi's Response to IDPs Crisis

Sungi responded to the recent dilemma of terrorism effecting internally displaced people facing painful situations in tent villages and with host families.

With funds from individuals and organizations Sungi has helped thousands of families providing cash grants (Cash for Choice) of Rs.8, 000 to families having up to 5 members Rs.12, 000 to families with 6+ members.

This amount was provided after having detailed assessment of beneficiaries by visiting them in their areas i.e. Mardan, Swabi, Lower Dir, Mansehra, Haripur and Abbottabad. CBO’s active social workers were involved in the process with the guidance of elected representatives.

The disbursement is carried through MCB local branches on the spot.

The basic needs of life were also addressed with specific focus on women and children.
