QUETTA: Flashfloods in Talli River on Thursday submerged Sultanpur and Talli area of Sibi district, washing away houses. In Jaffarabad and Jhal Magsi, floodwater from Tori Band has inundated 15 more villages of Gandakha and Usta Muhammad. Jaffarabad police and volunteers pulled out two more bodies from floodwaters near Dera Allah Yar. Authorities believe a number of bodies are also buried under the rubble of collapsed houses in the flood-hit area. Water level is also rising in Dera Allah Yar, Usta Muhammad, Sohbatpur, Rojhan Jamali, Gandakha, Kot Magsi of Jhal Magsi district and some parts of Naseerabad district, as the breach in the Tori Band has not been plugged yet. The latest flood wave from the Tori breach and the breach in Saifullah Magsi Canal has inundated 15 more villages of Gandakha and Sohbatpur. Thousands of people are stranded in the areas. app
